…stuck in deepest, darkest galicia with almost no internet, even india was easier…

You still see the land being worked by man and animal rather than machine in rural galicia. Go back a couple of generations and huge families would divide up their land at the death of a parent amongst the siblings, who it turn would do the same thing when it came to their time. The result were ever decreasing sized plots of land in ever increasing numbers creating fields that were too small for mechanised machinery, or too awkward a shape to accommodate anything other than an ox and plough….Twice now the land has been re claimed and re distributed by the government in an attempt to “rectify” the situation…
