…on being a very bad self publicist…

I interrupt the prolonged void of blogging silence with…

So anyone who knows me knows i am a rubbish self publicist when it comes to being an artist. So here it goes, way after the fact;

For the month of August i was invited to participate in a month long residence at St Margaret’s House Edinburgh. Here is the official blurb from the Edinburgh Art Festival site and you can find more on the principal artist  Yvonne Buskie’s web site:

STARTING TO SEE THE END

Overview

Six collaborating artists, Yvonne Buskie with Guest Artists Christine Devaney (Dancer+Choreographer), Luke Sutherland (Musician) Evy Tjåland, (Visual Artist), Margarita Vazquez Ponte (Multi Media Artist), Nik Paget-Tomlinson (Musician), create an evolving environment influenced by ideas of piety and vandalism. An integration of drawing, sound, performance, projection, and sculptural objects.

Within walking distance of St Margaret’s House is St Triduana’s Chapel. A medieval site with a history of piety and vandalism. These polarised themes become the impetus for new work.  The landscape of the exhibition will change moment to moment. Visitors entering the space will essentially witness a performance as the artists create the work in situ. Audiences are invited to participate in this emergent process by offering their own drawn or written response.

Supported by St Margaret’s House and Edinburgh Palette.
